Why would I want to join WSDHA/ADHA?
WSDHA is 88 years of dental hygienists working together to established the educational programs and standards from which you have benefited. We still currently enjoy the broadest scope of practice in the country.
Career options to serve children and seniors; to provide services to state and federal facilities, nursing homes and group facilities on your own. And now: since 2007 WSDHA succeeded in acquiring for hygienists the ability for hygienists working in school sealant programs to expand to add cleaning childrens teeth. Also hygienists to serve seniors in Senior Centers by providing prevention services on-site. In 2009, WSDHA will be working hard to ensure that SB1298 becomes a permanent option for community practice for Washington hygienists. This is your professional association at work. We work for you, support your future by supporting the association. The simple answer is that being a member of a professional association is what professionals do and membership is your affordable profession insurance.
Protection of your profession. Membership ensures current educational standards, and prevents encroachment on your scope of practice by unlicensed persons. There are new challenges every year and WSDHA is your eye on Olympia, representing your interests as a professional.
