WSDHA was created through 90 years of dental hygienists working together to establish educational programs and standards from which you have benefited. Hygienists from Washington continue to enjoy the broadest scope of practice in the country.Washington is known to be in the forefront of the practice. Career options have been created by WSDHA to serve children and seniors. To provide dental hygiene services to state and federal facilities, nursing homes and group facilities independently. WSDHA succeeded in adding prophys to the practice of hygienists working in school sealant programs. That 2007 bill also enabled hygienists to serve in Senior Centers by providing prevention services on-site. In 2009, WSDHA was successful in making these services in senior centers a permanent option for community practice for Washington hygienists.
