Component Notes and News

Sealant Day 2012

The Lake Washington Dental Hygienists’ Society is offering a preventive dental program, Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 9am to 2pm. This program is in honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month. We will be providing FREE dental sealants, exams, bitewing x-rays, and fluoride varnish to children who would not otherwise be able to receive this cavity-prevention treatment. Children whose teeth are unable to be sealed due to decay may have their cavities filled at a later date.

Since enrollment for this terrific opportunity is limited, please call the dental clinic at Lake Washington Institute of Technology to make an appointment. The clinic phone number is 425-739-8130. We are still in need of volunteers, we need 1 DDS and anyone else who would like to help.  Please pass along the word to friends and coworkers.

Also, consider distributing our flyer to help reach children in need.  As of last week there were only 37 children scheduled.  This is not unusual, but I want to make sure we continue to get the word out.  You might tell friends, patients, speak with your school nurse etc.

Restorative Day 2012

Lake Washington Dental Hygienist's Society is once again organizing and sponsoring our annual Children’s Restorative Day. We currently need volunteers for Restorative Day 2012 to help treat the abundance of decay found at Sealant Day. We will need dentists, restorative hygienists, and chairside assistants to volunteer for the day. This is scheduled for March 3, 2012 so please plan ahead, we would love to have you! Please contact Adisa Salaka at Disa_Salaka@hotmail.com or by phone/text if you would like to volunteer for this fun event!
